Public Utilities Board Approves FY 2020 Budget
ALAMEDA, CA – At its regular meeting on June 17, the city of Alameda’s Public Utilities Board approved Alameda Municipal Power’s (AMP) budget of approximately $65 million for fiscal year (FY) 2020.
AMP’s budget reflects the priorities set by the board through its adopted strategic plan and the annual budget workshop held in April 2019. AMP continues to provide rates that average 17 percent less than those of neighboring communities.
Major projects for FY 2020 include replacing breakers and preparing electrical infrastructure for new development projects.
As a 132-year-old community-owned electric utility, AMP does not generate a profit on rates. AMP serves the community with a reliability record within the top quartile of all western U.S. utilities.
AMP’s 2020 fiscal year begins on July 1, 2019 and runs through June 30, 2020. View the FY 2020 Budget Materials (PDF).
