AMP to Host Events on Electric Vehicles in October
ALAMEDA, CA – In October, Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) will hold two public events on the benefits of owning an EV.
On Oct. 12, AMP and the Downtown Alameda Business Association (DABA) are partnering to dedicate a section of the island’s annual car show to EVs. The new section of EVs, known as “EV Alley,” will join the 26th Annual Downtown Alameda Classic Car Show.
EV Alley will line part of Central Avenue at Park Street. When exploring EV Alley, visitors will have the opportunity to:
- View dozens of EVs on the market today.
- Meet with owners of EVs in Alameda to get the details on driving electric.
- Learn how EV chargers work.
AMP will follow up EV Alley with a free public workshop. On Oct. 16, AMP will offer EV 101 to help Alamedans get up to speed on EVs. Attendees will learn all about the following topics:
- Choosing an EV
- Costs of buying and owning an EV
- Savings, rebates and incentives
- Understanding where and how to charge
- EVs and Solar
- Event Details
