August 14, 2019 Downtown Alameda Classic Car Show to Debut Electric Vehicles
ALAMEDA, CA – Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) and the Downtown Alameda Business Association (DABA) are partnering to dedicate a section of the island’s annual car show to the benefits of owning an electric vehicle (EV). The new section of EVs, known as “EV Alley,” will join the 26th Annual Downtown Alameda Classic Car Show on October 12.
EV Alley will line part of Central Avenue at Park Street. When exploring EV Alley, visitors will have the opportunity to:
- View dozens of EVs on the market today.
- Meet with owners of EVs in Alameda to get the details on driving electric.
- Learn how EV chargers work.
Get the latest information on financial incentives from AMP, and state and federal agencies to help lower the cost of owning an EV. EV Alley’s sponsors include AMP, ChargePoint, Common Networks and Ben Carr State Farm Insurance.
In addition to enjoying EV Alley, attendees can view classic cars along Park Street between Encinal Avenue and Buena Vista Avenue – antique roadsters, coupes, hot rods, muscle cars, and much more. Plus, they can take time to enjoy all that downtown has to offer. The free event will also provide family entertainment.
