AMP to Present Budget and Rate Adjustment Proposals on April 15
The public is invited to attend Alameda Municipal Power’s (AMP) budget workshop on Monday, April 15 at 4 p.m. in the Regina K. Stafford Room at the Alameda Free Library, 1550 Oak Street. As part of the open budget process, AMP staff will present the City of Alameda’s Public Utilities Board (Board) with its proposed budget for the 2014 fiscal year and seek the Board’s input on the document. WHAT: AMP Budget Workshop WHEN: Monday, April 15 4 p.m. WHERE: Alameda Main Library Regina K. Stafford Room 1550 Oak St., Alameda The final budget for the 2014 fiscal year will be approved by the Board on June 24. Later, at its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at City Council Chamber, City Hall, the Board will consider a recommendation to increase electric rates for commercial and residential customers by an average of 3.25 percent, effective July 1, 2013. This will be the fourth year of the Board’s five-year rate adjustment plan, which was conceptually approved in 2010 to avoid anticipated rate spikes due to increased power costs and comply with financial guidelines adopted by the Board.
