July 4, 2017 Power Outage and Restoration

ALAMEDA, CA – Outage update: On the morning of July 5, power was restored to the last remaining customer who was affected by the July 4 outage. A failure in the underground electric system at Alameda Point was identified as a primary cause of the outage. About 4,700 people were affected by the outage.

*Update on July 18, 2017 – As part of AMP's investigation into the outage, we learned that a total of 5,700 customers were affected.
