STARTING SERVICE

The following options are available to each prospective customer wishing to start electric service in their name: 

TELEPHONE 

Our Customer Service Representatives are available at 510-748-3900.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

IN PERSON

The AMP Service Center is located at 2000 Grand Street (at Clement Avenue) in Alameda.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.


To start service, the following information is required for all responsible persons on the account:
  • Name, service address, and home telephone number

  • Social security number (required - not a credit check)

  • Employer’s name, address, and telephone number

  • Spouse/roommate information, if applicable

  • Reference (friend or relative) name and telephone number

  • Email address.

Fees:
  • An Account Establishment Fee of $15 will be assessed at sign-up and will appear on the first bill.
  • We may require a deposit if personal or employment information is incomplete or where there is a history of late payments.
    • New commercial accounts will be charged a minimum $300 deposit which will be included in the first bill. The deposit is based on twice the monthly average use of a similar business.

    Stopping Service

    The following options are available for customers wishing to stop electric service in their name.  Please be ready to provide a forwarding address for your final bill.
